“Regulation, brake or acceleration?” - Sopra Financial Technology presents provocative theses in the “Tech and Tacheles” podcast
News, 17/07/2025
Nuremberg, 16.07.2025, With a clear statement - “Regulation, brake or acceleration?” - Sopra Financial Technology continues its new podcast “Tech and Tacheles”. In the second episode, Mathias Weinert, CRO at Sopra Financial Technology, and Touria Jandusch, Senior Specialist for Security Governance at Commerzbank, discuss the fact that regulation - for some is the basis for trust and security and for others: A brake on innovation, a burden, even an end in itself.
In a lively and pointed discussion atmosphere, it is about more than just technical aspects: Cloud solutions have become an integral part of the financial sector's IT strategy - and yet many questions remain unanswered:
the opportunities and risks of DORA and new regulatory requirements,
the question of whether trust in cloud and IT solutions is naive or strategic
the importance of a European stance on artificial intelligence
and why regulation is often perceived as too complex, too uncoordinated or too impractical. The experts do not mince their words - with clear positions, real experiences from the field and a dialog at eye level.
“Regulation is not a brake or an accelerator per se - it's a question of implementation, interpretation and attitude,” emphasizes Mathias Weinert, who knows the topic inside out. Touria Jandusch adds: “We would be completely throwing our humanity and ethics overboard if we said: well, we'll trust.”
The new format will be hosted by Birgit Hass. With “Tech und Tacheles”, Sopra Financial Technology offers a platform for an open, well-founded exchange on future technological topics in the financial industry - without buzzwords, but with attitude.
The second episode is now available on all common platforms such as Apple Podcasts and Spotify. Further information and show notes can be found on YouTube.
