Nuremberg, 04.07.2025, with a clear statement - “Cloud first, trust second” - Sopra Financial Technology continues its new podcast “Tech und Tacheles”. In the second episode, Robert Holzwarth, PO Managed Cloud Services at Sopra Financial Technology, and Jörg Gottschlich, CEO of meshcloud, discuss the opportunities and challenges of managed cloud services in the financial services industry.
In a lively and pointed discussion atmosphere, it is about more than just technical aspects: Cloud solutions have become an integral part of the financial sector's IT strategy - and yet many questions remain unanswered:

This raises awareness in Europe towards its own sovereignty," emphasizes Robert Holzwarth, who is familiar with the topic as Product Owner Managed Cloud Services. Jörg Gottschlich adds: “Especially in the current climate, a European open source application in the cloud is now more important than ever for responsible companies.”

About Robert Holzwarth:
The IT expert has worked in senior technical roles for over 25 years and is currently Head of Service Operation at Sopra Financial Technology, where he is responsible for the stable and secure operation of complex IT infrastructures in the banking sector. Previously, he worked at Exasol as Head of Information Management and for over a decade at Elektrobit in various management roles in the Automotive Software & Innovation division. His career began in system administration - with increasing responsibility up to strategic IT management in technology-driven companies.
About Jörg Gottschlich:
Dr. Jörg Gottschlich is the founder and CEO of meshcloud, a platform for cloud governance and multi-cloud management, with which he has been supporting companies in the secure and efficient use of cloud infrastructures since 2016. Previously, he was a research assistant at TU Darmstadt (doctorate in business informatics, summa cum laude) and worked for several years in strategy consulting at Kearney. Since 2015, he has also been a lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management - with teaching assignments on digitalization, strategic IT management and cloud computing.
