People, 20/05/2025

As Sales Executives for Insurance, Antje Pfeifer and Aaron Funccius guide insurers through digital transformation. In this interview, they talk about industry expertise, speed, team spirit – and how they recharge after a busy day.

What is your role at Sopra Financial Technology?

Antje: Together with Aaron, I’m responsible for building our business in the German insurance market. Our focus is on developing customer relationships, understanding individual needs, and creating tailored solutions from our portfolio. It’s important to me to support insurance companies in their digital transformation – pragmatically, collaboratively, and at eye level.

Aaron: For me, it’s all about co-developing solutions with our clients that deliver real value – quickly, clearly structured, and forward-looking. I bring a strong passion for innovative technologies and a consistent focus on customer needs.

What convinced you to join us – and what did you do before?

Antje: I spent many years in sales, most recently as a Senior Account Manager for data-driven solutions in the insurance sector. I know the industry’s challenges well – whether it’s processes, digitalization, or efficiency demands. Now is the time to make a difference: insurers are under increasing pressure to modernize their IT landscapes, and the demand for reliable outsourcing is growing. Sopra Financial Technology’s offering is just right for this – modular, scalable, and closely aligned with processes. That precision convinced me.

Aaron: I also come from sales and consulting roles in the insurance industry, with a focus on digitalization. What convinced me was the combination of technological excellence and an open, ambitious team. We not only have a strong portfolio but also a clear drive to make a real impact.

What challenges are you currently facing – and how do you deal with them?

Antje: The German insurance market is well-established and highly competitive – but that’s also a big opportunity. As a newcomer at SFT, I want to quickly build deep market knowledge. I rely on active listening, clear structure, and fast action – even if everything isn’t perfect yet. For me, speed and trust go hand in hand.

Aaron: I often find that transformation processes require courage and clarity. My approach: reduce complexity, communicate openly, and build genuine partnerships. That makes decision-making easier for our clients – and builds long-term trust.

What motivates you in your job?

Antje: When clients see us as partners on equal footing. When someone says after a conversation, “Now I finally have someone who understands me,” I know we’re doing something right. Bridging the gap between needs and solutions motivates me every day.

Aaron: I’m excited when an idea turns into a tangible solution that truly makes a difference for the client. I want to drive innovation in the insurance world – and help ensure that change is seen not as a hurdle, but as an opportunity.

How do you recharge after work?

Antje: I prefer a clean break. A power workout, good music, or simply a change of scenery – anything that helps me switch off from business mode. For me, that’s not a luxury, it’s essential to stay focused.

Aaron: I unwind best when I do something completely different: spending time with friends, going to concerts, or composing music. I also love hiking with my two dogs – being outdoors helps me clear my head.
